A Woman’s Goal (Producer)
Sabera lives in the outskirts of Kabul. Every other day she makes a two hour long journey through the perilous streets of the Afghan capital. She says: “My parents have taken many risks by letting me playing football.” Not only is Sabera still unmarried at the age of 22. As a member of the Afghan women’s national team, fear of attack is an ever-present threat to her. In a patriarchal society like in Afghanistan, football is considered inappropriate for women. But for Sabera, it gives her the chance to build a new quality of life unknown to her before.
